SMART ALLIANCE To Organize The First Regional Contest

Members of SMART Alliance –– ABS–CBN (Philippines), BBTV (Thailand), Media Nusantra Citra (Indonesia), Media Prima (Malaysia), and MediaCorp (Singapore) –– launched the first regional contest, the SMART Alliance Pitch. Organised by SMART Alliance, the Pitch aims to search for a winning television programme idea from the general public. Ideas are invited for television entertainment across genres like variety shows, game shows and reality shows.

Shortlisted finalists will be invited for a face–to–face pitch in Singapore with judges comprising media and broadcasting veterans from the five SMART Alliance members. The winning pitch wins US$15,000 prize money and will be made into a television programme to be broadcast in the SMART Alliance network.

Smart Alliance was formed in March 2009 by six founding broadcasters and member–countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). It aims to create and deliver commercial benefits to its members, and deliver the best content in Southeast Asia that could potentially reach over half a billion eyeballs.
